Restaurant Review - Mr. Teppanyaki - Hong Kong

Freshest Seafood Teppanyaki!

Impression

We have been to various places serving Japanese food, but it is not very usual for us to come to the place which served mainly (only) Teppanyaki. To be as specific as this, we have high hopes on them. Without much fancy seasoning and the complicated cooking method, teppayaki is usually about those fresh the ingredient is and how skillful the chef is - after all the time spent on handling each dishes is crucial to the final product.

It was a bit like omakase because the ingredients used here somehow depends on what the chef bought during that morning - meaning what are the freshest in the market. Below are some pictures that we taken during the night with the food items. Do note that we did not take each one of them - only few highlights here. For example, the bacon fried rice, the lobster soup, the salad, the soup and the dessert have not being pictured.

Meet and Exceed?

The most amazing thing about dining here is the quality of the ingredients used. We look at how the fresh lobster is being handled and the chef did all the process in front of us. It could be crude to look at, if you mind, but it shows what is "from water to table" literally. The meat is superb that nothing much we could complain. The chef is able to build a close relationship with the diners so you could communicate with him even about how the seasonings could be adjusted, or personalized for your preference. Do make a reservation before visiting!
