Restaurant Review - Saladstop! (Updated) - Hong Kong

Awesome Salad place with fresh and colorful ingredients!

(Updated on 13-1-2019)

This outlet should be the most petite one among the 3 outlets in Hong Kong. Still, there are some common spaces (with no tables though) close to the place for diners to take a seat while enjoying their food.

Here's the Heart Beet (HKD 88), which is one of the Seasonal Warm Grains. This bowl comes with quinoa, romaine, vegan burger patty, warm baked mushroom, warm spiced chickpeas, sweetcorn, edamame, red radish pickles, Beetroot Hummus with Japanese Miso as the dressing. Very nutritious and filling. The bright color makes it even more tempting haha. This big bowl for sure satisfy my belly and becomes one of my comfort salad food. The vegan patty is superb, with rich flavour in beans without heavy seasoning.

This is the Broth Bowls with Grilled Tofu (HKD 78). Do note that these are not noodles, but zoodles. It comes with zucchini & carrot zoodles, red & white cabbage, baby spinach, warm baked mushrooms, sweet corn, brocolli and togarashi in the vegetable soy broth. You could also choose between Japanese Miso or Korean Chilli Vinaigrette as your dressing. This low-carb meal provides us an alternative other than the relatively cold salad, so this is absolutely an awesome choice during winter time - at the same time lose some weight haha. Very much needed...

Impression

Located in a well-developed office building, this salad place is constantly providing quality ingredients for diners to choose from for wrap or salad bowl. Breakfast (served till 10:30am daily) and lunch are both served with wide variety of choices - but sticking with the concept of "back to the source" that consumers could be reassured that the toppings come from the trusted sources. The area is bright and tidy, and the menu has been clearly shown with clear nutrition labels.

The dressing Arabian Spiced Vinaigrette of the Habibi (HKD 66) was awesome - fresh and natural. And later on when we read its menu, we were surprised that there are more than 15 dressings on the list and ALL of them are handmade on a daily basis. No wonder it tastes different from the one we bought from store haha. The ingredients that we like the most probably goes to the falafels. Soft in texture and rich in flavour!

This Iron "Wo"man (HKD 76) has easily become my favourite. It basically includes . Simple ingredients but turned out it was very flavourful and yummy! The pumpkin has been roasted which has highlighted its natural sweetness and the almond has been toasted which has made them much more crispy. Even without the common grains that we used to see, this bowl is still very fulfilling. We have also ordered this Kumbucha, which was so fizzy and I guess it's fair to describe it as a healthy version of soft drink haha.

Meet and Exceed?

We enjoyed both salad bowls so much and they do not taste like that vegetables-packed as it looked as they are very flavourful (probably because of the housemade sauces and the enough portion of protein). The combination of the ingredients have been carefully selected but please feel free to create your own if you have other ideas. When we were waiting for our orders, we found that there's some seasonal items that sound tempting too. We will come back for their wrap next time!
