Having some cravings for Western/Eastern sweets?

(Updated on 7-1-2019)

The low temperature has dragged me to enjoy some warm desserts in this place haha This time we have order this Peach Gum, Swallow's Nest & Stewed Egg White (HKD 55). It was served warm with a decent presentation. Lots of toppings that you could find yourself quite full after finishing the whole thing by yourself... One thing we appreciate about the service here is that it takes less than 10 minutes for almost every desserts to arrive, so speedy!

Impression

We are always on our road in searching for good places to enjoy good desserts to satisfy our sweet tooth, and this is not an easy one. There are times that we were disappointed between what we expected and we were given. We were attracted to this place because of its reputation of creative and quality desserts. We came here during late afternoon and have tried not only their sweets, but savory dishes too.

The Mixed Sweet Potatoes on Osmanthus Ginger Tea with Black Sesame Dumpling (HKD 29) came first this afternoon. The word "Hot" has been written clearly on the menu for this dish, but it was not even warm when served. Other than the temperature, everything's good. The soup base was very strong in ginger flavour without adding too much sugar which is really nice. At least we can taste the rawness of it and that's the point. On the menu, it shows that there are 4 pieces of sweet potatoes but here we are, three of them. Anyways, a good one to enjoy during autumn time.

For sure, we did not miss this Limited Edition Premium Honey Melon Belgium Waffle (HKD 68). The presentation was great and we really appreciated the details that had gone to the dishes. The ice-cream is in melon flavour which was refreshing. The waffle has been freshly made and served warm. The combination between the ice-cream and the waffle and the cream were heavenly awesome. The only thing is that the maple syrup was a bit watery.

We have added the Duo Lemon Cucumber Ice Tea (HKD 8) too as a drink. It tasted surprisingly fresh. We thought the other "lemon" would be lime; actually it was cucumber. The added mint leaf has made the drink looks very attractive and colorful. It was not sweet and we enjoyed the freshness of it.

We end our meal with this savory dish Perigord Truffle Toast (HKD 42). It was cheesy and warm without being over-baked. The ingredients used here were quite generous too. However, there is not even a slight flavour of truffle that we found a bit confusing. There were many mushrooms and we like it, just nothing close to truffle. If this dish is named Mushroom Toast, we would be very happy about it.

Meet and Exceed?

It was no doubt a delight to have tried these desserts. We would say the quality of the sweets are good whereas the savory parts are more so-so. Or we should have focused more on the sweets side which belongs to the highlight of this place. One advice is that the waiting time for the food to serve is long, too long that has even surprised us. For example, the Mixed Sweet Potatoes on Osmanthus Ginger Tea with Black Sesame Dumpling took more than 20 minutes for arrival which is quite uncommon for us. Is is the lack of manpower? This is the thing we did not quite expect.
