Restaurant Review - Cafe Merry Go Round - Hong Kong
A new place to chill and share some bites!
Impression
It was a Friday night, and we came to this place to enjoy dinner and drinks as well. We were attracted to this place because its name has brought some uniqueness to our impressions, and we were keen to find out if the dining experience would be a different one. Of course, the drinks menu has much more choices and variety, but we were surprised by the quality of their hot dishes too.The Wagyu Burger with Wedges (HKD 118) should be taken up some more credits with its tastiness. We agreed that this burger alone worth the trip. The patty was super juicy, together with the onion, veggies, tomatoes, pineapple and sauce, this combination tasted heavenly. It might come as a surprise, but definitely one of the best burgers we have ever had. A must-order even if you come here with a full belly lol. The thing that we would happy to see in changing is the amount of wedges, too little here!
The size of Dried Fugu (HKD 88) was quite small but the flavour of them was awesome! They may not look like so, but they actually have been grilled with a considerable amount of time, but the texture of them were still quite tender and juicy at the same time. We can taste the freshness of them and would be an even better one if you dip them into the mayo.
Another finger food we ordered was the Dried Fish Fin (HKD 48). Similar one but with a more economical price. The sauce and the side were the same as the above one. We would say the texture of this one was drier, but managed to be tempting because of its slight slight spiciness. Both of them could be great items to share among friends.
The Smoked Duck Brest with Herb Cream Sauce Linguine (HKD 68) was another good one in good value. The presentation of it was detailed, with some veggies on the side and sauce spread on the pasta evenly. The meats have been cooked with the right amount of seasoning. The texture of the pasta was just right as well. The only thing is that it took more than 20 minutes for it to arrive which is a bit too long in our opinion.
The Whisky Sour (HKD 68) was nothing less than we expected. The taste of it was relatively light. It was good even for someone who could not take strong alcohol like me haha.
Meet and Exceed?
What we enjoyed most was the environment was really chill and relaxing. The soft sofa at the back at the restaurant, near the window or near the bar table, all gave us the feeling of cozy. There's space outdoor too if you want to shisha. Together with the great lighting, this place is for sure a good spot for gathering between friends and a relaxing place to enjoy some moments with colleagues.Cafe Merry Go Round // 852-9541-1221 // Facebook page
