Restaurant Review - My Meat Run Buddy - Hong Kong
Yum yum vegetarian lunch buffet!
Impression
No doubt, the awareness of plant-based diets are increasing drastically in these few years and so a number of places serving vegetarian buffets emerged. We have tried few of them and this time, we would like to introduce this one for you all. We came during lunch hour in a public holiday and the place was already 90% full. You could make a reservation for dinner if you are interested in visiting. The most eye-catching part should probably be the salad bar. In addition to Mediaterrian Salad and the Potatoes Salad, you can also DIY your own with other raw ingredients put at the other side of the table (not pictured). Shred carrots, corns, cucumber, quinoa, red beans, veggies salad, dried fruits, mashed sweet potatoes etc. At least 6 dressings are ready for you too.
Here are some hot dishes which are freshly prepared and flavouful with veggies as the main ingredients.
The corner here has been providing some deep-fried food including tofu and purple sweet potatoes. One thing that we really appreciated is that they were very speedy for the food refill! The plate would be empty for few minutes max.
The other side of the table was serving Melon Chinese soup, Pumpkin Congee, Seaweed Green Bean Sweet Soup and Bean Curd Pudding.
The baked dessert was a popular one. Each time it has been put on the table, people were rushing to line up and get a piece or two and I could never take a full picture of it. The below one was Coconut Cake which was so moist and sweet and it looked good too! No wonder it was that popular haha.
The below one was another plate for my belly, pardon the presentation lol The Steamed Ground "Pork" was awesome and it tasted at least 80% like real meat. We did not usually too concern about how similar it was with the real meats because we enjoy tasting the earthiness of veggies too. Anyways, this one is particularly good that was one of the most unforgettable dish for this lunch.
Meet and Exceed?
75 minutes would be allowed for lunch during public holidays, and 60 minutes during weekdays. This time we left after 70 minutes and we felt that it was just enough for us, so we doubt that during weekdays, it might be quite rush (with some queuing and walk-arounds) if the time is limited to 60 minutes only. For the quality of food items, we were impressed by the creative cooking method and the theme that created for the diners - showing people plant-based food could be exciting too!My Meat Run Buddy // 852-2388-6280 // Facebook page
