Restaurant Review - 2DP - Hong Kong

A chic vegetarian place that never disappoints us.

Impression

This should be the third time we came here but the first visiting for dinner set. We really like the minimalist design and the good lighting. It does not have the old-school or traditional decorations of a vegetarian dining place. It feels much more lively and energetic. This time we have ordered the Dinner Set for Two (HKD 328) which included Salad or Soup (from three choices), a Starter (from three choices) and two Main (from eight choices).

The Fig & Feta Cheese Salad came first. The portion was generous with some quinoa on top as well. The savory from feta has successfully given the whole salad bowl a kick in terms of the flavour. The dressing used here was bit sour and sweet which was refreshing and paired well with the fresh fig. It was really good to have this fruit during Autumn!

The starter we chose was Baked Mushroom with Homemade Pesto. There were in totals six of them and these little ones were quite cute. The presentation scored for sure and it was a delight as a starter. Feeling cheesy and rich. The homemade pesto was a nice shot too.

The first main that came was Kale Aglio Olio. This is almost a must-order for us whenever we visited some traditional Italian pasta place. The dish itself is simple without fancy ingredients, but it shows you how well-trained the chef is or how they approach of making this classic item. This one was nothing less than we expected. Without being too oily, the amount of kale was generous and belongs to its unique version of Aglio Olio. The yellow pepper was a nice one and matched well with the al dente pasta too.

The next main was Grilled Mushrooms Verde Pizza which homemade sauce was being used. The sauce was very lightly spread on the surface that you can see the amount of it was actually quite little. The taste of it was not that strong but able to pair well with the mixed mushrooms. The pizza base was a relatively thin one, not as crispy as thin biscuits but not as thick as a full bread too.

For the drinks, we have added two cups of hot teas, including Black Goji Honey Tea (Right) and Rose Tea (Left) (HKD 18 for each cups). The honey one was obviously with much more sweetness; whereas the rose tea was relatively light.

Meet and Exceed?

The dinner set did not bring us any disappointments - it was as decent as we expected. The dishes may not seem a lot (if you also exclude the drinks), but definitely able to fill up our big belly. We particularly like how they have created the vegetarian menu in a dynamic way that each dishes were so flavourful that you would probably forget there's no meat there. We appreciated the effort and creativity here. Next time, desserts please!
