Restaurant Review - Tasty Veggie - Hong Kong

Enjoyable vegetarian lunch with comfy environment!

Impression

To be honest, my to-try eateries list has always have abundant places for restaurants serving vegetarian/vegan food because mastering in it requires certain level of skills, creativity and knowledge in handling the ingredients. But of course, what I meant here is dishes that made from scratch, instead of pre-made plant-based food that have nothing to do with chemistry. Those may not include any meats, but still not really "healthy" in my opinion.

This Italian Lasagne with Tomato Sauce (HKD 72) came first. We were surprised by how much veggies have been included in this one. I would say over 60% of this Lasagne was veggies (no doubt tons of tomato sauce too), instead of the flour (carb), and some cheese in between layers. The salad on the side was very fresh too with the light sour sauce. Portion was not that much so you may go for others if you need to satisfy a big belly. By the way, all lunch sets are inclusive with a bowl of soup or a cup of team, and lunch set is available on Monday to Saturday.

The Cutlet Veggie Hamburg with Curry with Red & White Rice (HKD 72) is another hit. The curry was not that spicy so it's totally okay even if you cannot take spicy food. The "hamburg" was house-made with the use of beans, corns and potatoes. Super fulfiling as there's much rice and sauce, also a bit veggies too. The hamburg was crispy outside and very soft inside - which tasted a bit "meaty" too. A great one for meat-lovers!

The Today's Dessert is Fresh Fruits Pancake (additional HKD 18). What we really enjoyed is that there's almost no cream in this pancake. What's inside were simply fruits, including bananas and blueberries. Still, it was very moist and tasty. The pancake itself was nicely handled - very thin with earthy flavour of egg. Together with the chocolate sauce on top of it, awesome!

Meet and Exceed?

Even the desserts have impressed us a lot - we were very satisfied with our meals considering its price level is not high at all. One important thing to mention - their washroom is probably one of the cleanest and tidiest we have ever visited. Okay, this part was not food-related at all but leave a great impression when we evaluated a place. It for sure scored full mark. To conclude, definitely one of our favourite places for vegetarian food. Next time, we got to visit during dinner time!
