Restaurant Review - Madam's Kitchen - Hong Kong

Good quality Taiwanese lunch!

Impression

This place is located near the main road, without many similar restaurants providing Taiwanese dishes nearby, but there are tons of eateries! So I am quite sure the competition is fierce, especially during lunch hour. Soon enough I realized the price level setting was similar among those places haha. This place is attractive to me because I am always vulnerable to anything that's marked as "housemade" haha.

There are four choices on the lunch menu and I have chosen this Taiwanese Beef Noodles (HKD 48). It was really yummy! The beef was of good quality that you can even see those layers on the meats - slight fat so that the texture was super tender. There were around four big pieces of beef. Some veggies and white carrots have been included to balance the meaty ingredients. The noodles itself was housemade and the texture was not that al dente, but special enough to be a good match with the meats.

The below side dishes cost an additional HKD 10 for each one. They are Veggies with Minced Pork and Soft-boil Egg. Both were within my expectation with speedy arrival time - less than 2 minutes! So do not need to worry even if you are in a rush.

Meet and Exceed?

The Taiwanese Beef Noodles is no doubt the one that impressed me. With this price setting, I did not expect the quality to be that high with general portion too. For the side dishes - including the soft-boiled egg and the veggies - did not come as much surprise as the noodles itself, but worth trying if you are a fan. Honestly, I very much appreciate the effort in promoting authentic Taiwanese food in Hong Kong with new products regularly. The housemade desserts look quite attractive too!
