Restaurant Review - Snapper Soup Restaurant - Hong Kong

Impression

We are always a big fan of snapper, or basically any kinds of fish haha. No doubt, the important part is on how fresh it is and the quality of it. Achieving these two and everything's about how you combine the ingredients and present the item.


The Sea Urchin Udon in Soup (hkd 138) is one of the highlights in this place. Do note that usually this came with rice, but we specially requested it to be in udon. The sea urchin was fresh in taste and came with large portion. With other veggies like green onion, very yum! And the fire under it has kept the dish warm which is a sweet thing for them to do. Because in this winter time, it's particularly comforting to enjoy hot food even if your focus is not only on the food but the conversation with the one sitting next to you lol.


The Sliced Snapper with Soup Udon (HKD 75) is exactly the thing I have been looking forward to try. Sliced Snapper in snapper soup, wow! The soup was not as rich as we think, but we are sure that there's no MSG there and it tasted quite refreshing. The texture of the udon is al dente enough too. I have added 3 pieces of Geoduck (hkd18) too as an addition treat for ourselves. Bouncy and chewy, a nice topping to add!


Meet and Exceed?

The service provided here was okay - efficient in serving food and taking orders without mistakes, just putting more smiles on the face is better haha. They look a bit angry that we do not know why. The items here are not in super great variety, but we like it with the fact that they focus on making these items really great, and maintaining the consistency with reasonable price.
