Restaurant Review - Lamb Rack Restaurant - Hong Kong

Good value economical Western lunch!

Impression 

I came here along on a weekday lunch hour, and the queue outside was no joke! At last it took me around 25 minutes before settling, which was acceptable. One thing to note is that there are other similar restaurants nearby (as you know, the Kowloon City is crowded with eateries), but this one was particularly busy, with both students and workers too.

I have ordered the lunch set and every sets came with a bowl of Soup (you could choose fro White or Red) and a slice of Garlic Bread. Both were average and I did appreciate that the garlic bread was slightly warm with a crispy crust. Although these are complimentary and probably not the highlight for the place, they are fairly serious about them as well.

The Red Wine Oxtail (HKD 54 for the lunch set) was really great! The first thing you should note is that the portion was very generous. There were at least 5 big pieces of oxtail with meats on them. Second thing to note is the meat was tender and did not take you much energy in chewing them, so I supposed it takes time in preparing it. Also, the sauce was rich and flavouful enough to finish the whole bowl of rice or pasta haha. It did not really have any flavour of red wine but well, for this price setting, it was well exceed my expectations!

Meet and Exceed?

Basically this is a very economical lunch set with good value. Even priced at reasonable range, the items they provided were in quality. It is not uncommon for us to come across some cheap eats with "cheap" quality and this is the type that I always try to avoid. It does not matter if you priced the items really low if the quality needs to be compromised, still, there will not be any repeat diners. So this place has done a great job in balancing these two critical elements!
