Restaurant Review - Ying Feng Restaurant - Hong Kong

All-you-can-eat Japanese night!

Impression

It has been a while since we last been to the place with all-you-can-eat Japanese-styled buffet, so tonight we have casually picked a restaurant with convenient location to give it a try. The place was more cozy than we expected - so do prepare to sit very closely with your friends or even quite close to the diners next to your table. We have been arranged to sit next to the corridor and tons of people pass by our desk during that night.

The restaurant has a Thai theme so that some dishes are very "Thai". One thing that we particularly enjoyed was that all hot dishes were served literally hot which were freshly prepared. In addition to the hot dishes, the grilled food as well, those we tried were Grilled Beef, Grilled Salmon, and Fried Spicy Clams.

For the starter, we would highly recommend that the Spicy Chicken is the best. As spicy as we think with generous amount of spicy oil lol. The meats were tender and being well-seasoned - definitely not the usual quality that you come across frequently during a buffet meal.

For sure, we did not miss the sashimi and sushis. They were all good and we would recommend the prawns - HUGE in size and super fresh! It was the most delicious among the sashimi items. The sushi items were average, not particularly creative or have anything that wow-ed us.

Meet and Exceed?

Overall, we were satisfied with this all-you-can-eat buffet meal after missing it for some while. We would say the hot dishes were a bit too salty, that we both felt quite thirsty after being home. Sushi or sashimi was fresh with enough variety, and the unique Thai theme makes this buffet place stands out from others. There are few drinks and desserts too but we did not try it this time because our tummies were already super full after those food!
