Restaurant Review - Jojo Kitchen - Hong Kong

Surprisingly good Western dinner in "desert"!

Impression

Haha, do read along til the "Meet and Exceed?" part if you are wondering the reason for me to create this heading. Coming here on a weekday night to enjoy some dinner. Maybe the time is still early so it was not crowd at all. The menu has a variety of food and unfortunately, during our night of visiting, the pizzas are sold out! Otherwise we got the chance to give them a try as we are a big fan of pizzas lol.

This Parma Ham Salad came with the dinner set we ordered. It has exceed our expectation with its quality parma ham and the portion size of the salad. It's really enough for two people to share as a starter. It has been seasoned with one of my favourite vinegar dressings, without being too sour or sweet. Veggies are fresh and being nicely cut.

The Clams Spaghetti with Herbs Cream Sauce (HKD 108) is a nice one. The clams were fresh and have been well-seasoned with garlic which as successfully brought out the earthiness of the seafood. The thing that surprised us is the texture of the spaghetti - super bouncy! The time management is really well in cooking this pasta. It may look like a simple thing, but it does not happen every time when we dine out.

The USA Cheddar Cheese Sauce with French Fries (HKD 40) has totally satisfied our cravings for fries and cheese at the same time. The portion of the cheese sauce was so generous that they have covered almost all the fries. We like how they add some chopped purple onion and fried bacon on it to create a relatively special flavour. Yes, there's a lot of cheese but you will not get the feeling of too salty or heavy. Do remember to serve hot as the cheese sauce become quite "solid" soon and it affects the original taste of it.

Got to tell you this - this German Pork Knuckle with Potato Wedges and Honey Mustard (HKD 168) is huge! It wow-ed us when it's served and we could not possibly imagine we could finish it after the dishes above haha. But guess what, the meats were all gone after 15 minutes because they are so yummy, particularly with the crispy skin! The only thing is that the knuckle is quite salty (good to match with the honey mustard) and we guess the time for marinating it could be a bit shorter, so that the texture could be more tender.

Meet and Exceed?

We very much support they have passion in providing quality food items with affordable price in this "desert", as there are tons of industrial buildings nearby but very very few eateries, that I personally do not think it's balance. The service is professional too, with attentiveness in spotting what the diners might need in different touch points. It might take time for people to realize this hidden gem for tasty food, but we believe before long, diners will be able to find it out!
