Restaurant Review - Lex Coffee - Hong Kong

Burger? Coffee?

Impression

Such a comfy place! Very high ceiling with big glasses, making it particularly eye-catching even we were across the street. The interior design is much more than the conventional Western-style, with all the art-related and classic books, it gives diners a feeling that they are inside a museum or gallery instead of a cafe. The smell of the comforting coffee beans is also an element that soothed us.

Here comes to something light first, the Mango Crab Meat Salad with Mango Dressing (HKD 98) tasted as fresh as it sounds. The combination of mango and the crab meat came as a new thing to us and it was surprisingly great. This dish reminded us of those Thai-styled salad but with a much lighter taste with its use of mango dressing. The sliced almonds and the fresh salad veggies were quite pleasant too.

This Giant Burger (HKD 168) was such a joy to eat. What makes it special is that the use of beef shoulder, which has clearly brought the uniqueness of its texture. Serving warm and fresh, it includes Homemade Beef Patty, Fried Egg, Cheddar Cheese, Gherkins, Bacon, Tomato and Red Onion. Out of all the ingredients, we have to say the beef patty and the fried egg were particularly good! Of course, the cheddar cheese was also the charm that makes every ingredients better haha.

Meet and Exceed?

Yes, all the things did meet and exceed our expectations! We were there during a weekday night and the place was not crowded at all - that gives us sufficient space to have a relaxing chat and enjoy the food items. There's a whole menu for drinks - especially for their highlight coffee. Because of the time limit, we were yet to give it a try. If you are a fan of coffee, do come and do not forget the burger part!
