Restaurant Review - 9 3/4 Cafe - Hong Kong

Ready for some Harry Potter magic in a Western cafe? 

Impression

I would not believe it if one told me there's someone does not know this popular series of movie; however, it should be my first time being in a cafe which the main theme is exactly on Harry Potter, and yes, they did a great job no matter in internal decorations or designs of the name of the food items on the menu.

Our night started with this Mixed Vegetable Soup (HKD 28) which was average. There are some cubed onion and red carrots in it. The taste was not strong and it was a bit watery. Anyways, the quality of it has lived with the expectations given the setting of price level.

The Bacon Cheese Fries in Black Truffle (HKD 58) served as the starter. This one was huge! The portion of it was generous and so much black truffle sauce has been added on top. The flavour of the black truffle was not as strong as expected but it mated well with the fries. The bacon and the fries were freshly made so this one was so good!

The Penne with Pumpkin & Spinach (HKD 82) was also a big tick for us. It was not oily and the pasta has been cooked with just the right amount of time. The sauce was made with fresh spinach and it would be better if more of it was given. The added mushroom and pumpkin served as an extra flavourful ingredients to this dish.

Meet and Exceed?

There were many playful decorations and Harry Potter-related props for you to play with and take photo with which served as a really fun element when enjoying your dishes. If you are one of its fans, this is for sure a must go to experience everything even including the movie theme music playing in the background. We very much appreciated the effort that they have put in creating such a "magical" environment as we believe the sourcing and designing period was quite lengthy. To conclude, do give it a try for theme-cafe lover!
