Restaurant Review - Blissful Carrot - Macau

A hidden plant-based cafe gem!

Impression

It was not surprising to know "cafe" is not a commonly-seen place in Macau. As described in the heading, this cafe is a "gem" because a very large amount of plant-based dishes selling here were being made from scratch including the bakeries, sandwiches, tacos and wraps. As mentioned in this blog many times before, the word "housemade" was like a magnet to me and that's why I was attracted to give it a try.

This Thai Curry Bowl (Yellow; MOP 95) was such a charm. The curry tasted very creamy and full of spices. Lots of veggies fully soaked with the flavor of the curry. Unlike most curry dishes in usual vegetarian restaurants, this one did not have a weak taste and watery texture. The red rice was very rich in fiber and was quite chewy too.

This Smoothie Bowl (MOP 70) consisted of a very smooth blend of banana, coconut milk etc. It was full of freshly cut fruits, like kiwi, strawberry and blueberries. I particularly enjoyed the not-so-sweet chocolate on top. Yummy! You will for sure feel full after finishing one bowl. It was served cold so it was a very good way to cool one down in summer time.

Meet and Exceed?

No doubt, Macau is still taking time to be instilled the concept of plant-based diet or even plant-based lifestyle. It takes a huge amount of effort to grow. We are glad to see the owners have been restlessly promoting the concept in order to bring some better options for the consumers - something that is beyond monetary benefits. Food and service are creative and gave us constant surprise. Even for non-plant-based diner, I am sure they could find their comfort food here.
