Restaurant Review - AGE Cuisine Express - Hong Kong

A yummy night filled with Western cuisine

Impression

This is the second time we visited this place and the reason for that? Simply because the experience for the first time was excellent - not only the food, but also the whole dining experience. The dishes we have tried this time were all different from last time since we would like to have a full picture of the quality of the dishes here. The location was quite good given that it is just around 3 minutes walk from the MTR station.

The Blue Cheese Garden Salad with Peach and Pine Nuts (HKD 72) was a good appetizer with sweet and delicious canned peach together with the veggies. The blue cheese has a strong flavour as expected which can for sure satisfy cheese-lovers. As a greedy person, I would be happier if there's more pine nuts haha. We would say the price setting was a bit aggressive though.

This Patatas Pravas (HKD 56) were very well cooked and soft. We particularly enjoyed the flavoring as it was very well executed. The sauce had a rich taste of herbs and mayonnaise. We believe they were not being deep-fried so they were not oily at all.

Believe it or not, this Parma Pizza (HKD 136; 9 inch) was very impressive and perhaps the best I've eaten for some while. The arugula and parma ham was a great match and was made even better with the garlic slices. The amount of cheese on top was just right - not too much to make you feel heavy or guilty of having it and you can keep taking slice after slice.

The USDA Angus (Dry-aged) Beef Sirloin Steak with Red Wine Jus (hkd 278) was very tender and rich in flavor, with just the right amount of fat to give it a buttery taste. It would be good enough even without the red wine sauce and the vegetable sauce.

Wrap up

Every dishes were nothing less than we expected. One thing I have to mention is that the service here was very professional and attentive, or it should be described as very personal. From the moment we stepped into the place, we were not treat like a diner, but a friend. We have been asked how was the dish, should the main dish be served since we have not finished the starter yet, and in details what is the recommendations for the night. The way they put it was comforting and relaxing. To conclude, this is the place for couples or friends gathering if you fancy decent Western dishes!
