Restaurant Review - Rose Cafe - Hong Kong

A great place for your besties gathering!

Impression

I always like to explore different cafes in Hong Kong, especially in Mong Kok which crowded with different types of eateries. I was attracted by this cafe because of their main theme - flowers! Who does not like being surrounded by pretty flowers while enjoying the meal? The interior design was quite impressive with all those neat flowers which I guess lots of maintenance and cleaning works are needed.



Our night started with the Garlic Toast with Tomato (HKD 56). The toast has been appropriately grilled; where as the freshness and moisture of the diced tomato prevented the dry and crunchy garlic toast from scratching your mouth which is quite a trivial (but painful) thing. I must say the tomato salsa was slightly too sweet for my taste and I am quite sure the sweetness was not natural from the tomatoes themselves.



Cheese Omelette with Salad and Croissant (HKD 56) was a decent surprise. I was impressed by the salmon omelette. I chose smoked salmon for the ingredient and a very generous amount of it was wrapped in the omelette. It felt particularly satisfying to have so much salmon meat with each bite of it. The salad with the dressing in black vinegar was a good match (as always).



The Smoked Salmon Pasta with Fresh Spinach Cream Sauce (HKD 138) was not as creamy as I thought which is a good thing because it meant there was not too much heavy cream putting in this. I like how they added the 3-color pepper here to make the dish even lighter and the portion of the spinach was generous too. However, I would say the overall portion, including the pasta, was less than we expected and it was not able to feed my big belly oh...

Wrap up

We enjoyed the flowery design and private dining corners for families and couples, as well as some flowery spots for taking photos. The dishes itself were slightly above our average with the thoughtfulness of cooking the ingredients. I am sure it would be a good place if you are looking for somewhere to spend time with your besties.
