Restaurant Review - Bear's Lab - Hong Kong

The impressive new smoothie (vegan) spot.

Impression

I particularly mentioned this is the new vegan spot because the latte drinks the place provided were all vegan - no caffeine and only almond milk is used. We were impressed by not only the amount of creative drinks they served, but also the lovely environment and decorations. Neat and tidy with pink and light blue as the theme colour. 

The Bear's Acai Bowl (HKD 78) is such a charm. Unlike the usual acai bowl, this one was very thick (thanks to the dried acai powder) and smooth since a lot of real mixed berries have been used. It was especially fulfilling too. To our surprise, it was not watery at all even after it melts - probably because of the same reasons - solid and the large amount of real ingredients. The Mean Green (HKD 60) was so refreshing man! Such a pity that the menu did not mention what ingredients have been used but we were curious enough to ask the staff haha. What we know is that there were spinach and banana in the smoothie but to be honest I could not taste the spinach at all probably because of the strong flavor of bananas.

The Activated Charcoal Latte (HKD 38) was also a delight. To the best of my knowledge, it was blended with almond milk, Charcoal and salt. Using very simple ingredients to make this light and guilt-free drink. And in case you were wondering, no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives are used in any of these drinks and smoothie.

Wrap up

I like how they have included the benefit of that particular smoothie/drinks, it's like mix & match with what you desired to result from having that. As mentioned above, I would appreciate if the ingredients are included too, or, is it part of their secret recipe? Just guessing haha. Anyways, no matter you are looking for a healthy lunch or afternoon tea or simply a treat for yourself, give it a go and you would find the one that suits you.
