Restaurant Review - Soup and Rice - Hong Kong

Having Taiwanese hotpot alone!

Impression

The place is located in one of the busiest location in Hong Kong - Mong Kok (to be concise, it is in between Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok). There were quite a lot of Asian or local-styled places nearby but Taiwanese-hotpot, especially available for one person, makes it particularly appealing. The interior design was very neat and tidy in this place with light color as the main theme; I also like its bring lighting.

This Japanese Miso hotpot (HKD 98) was a creative and pleasant surprise. The taste of miso made the pork much more tasty and savory. A generous amount of pork was given in the pot so this was definite made for all the meat lovers out there. And without ordering additional items, there were a number of ingredients in the soup base already, for example, corn, cabbage, egg, fried potatoes, mushroom, tufu etc. And you could choose from Instant Noodles, Steamed Rice or Vermicelli as your carb.

An additional portion of Tofu (HKD 28) since I wanted to intake some more proteins and I genuinely love the simplicity of tofu as always haha. Not really worth it though.

Silly me, I have also added Vermicelli (HKD 15) as an add-on item. Again, I was too full to finish it all since there was a carb portion already.

Wrap up

There were many other hotpot styles (for example, in curry or spicy flavour) available here and most of them look quite attractive (also considering its price) - even if you are not a big fan of Taiwanese food, I believe you could find a flavor that suits you. I saw most of them were spicy one so for spicy lovers, this is your must-go place!
