Hotel Review - Wan Yue Grand Skylight Hotel - Shenzhen

Impression

The hotel enjoys an excellent and central location which was roughly 2-minute walk from the closest MTR station, and 15-minute drive from the international airport. The 30-story hotel property is managed by Shenzhen Grand Skylight Hotels Management Co., Ltd. This is the first time I visited a hotel under this brand.

The entrance of the property was not eye-catching that I almost missed it. I would say it was quite low-key in terms of the outdoor decorations.

The surroundings were both comforting and trendy.

The check-in and check-out process have been done quite efficiently. And the staff here was helpful and attentive.

This time we stayed at a room in the Executive Floor (27th floor). The room boasted a minimalist style and chic design, with the use of warm color like light blue and light grey. For the bathroom, I was a bit disappointed that there was no bath tub, only a walk-in rainfall shower.

This is the view when I look out of the window :) It was raining quite heavily during my whole stay unfortunately, so the sky was clearly not in the mood.



Here's the only restaurant, The Elysee Western Restaurant, on the ground floor. Breakfast buffet is also served here with a variety of choices of well prepared cold and hot foods.

The dinner buffet was nothing less than what we expected. Cold cuts, seafood, hot dishes, desserts, barbecue, salad, fruits, desserts - though I would expect more choices for sushi or sashimi. The flavor of the food were in general quite strong which might not be your liking if you prefer dishes with low sugar/salt.

The fitness center was clean and quiet, providing the place for me to shred some weight off my belly. It was fairly well-equipped but just do not expect the sophisticated ones.

Wrap up

The hotel has successfully provides a unique refreshing taste of Shenzhen once you stepped into the lobby. Overall, the stay was comfortable and home-like that we particularly enjoyed the dinner buffet - the ambiance was energetic and chic. The area that exceed our expectation was the excellent location and the minimalist style of the whole design. Every thing else was
