Restaurant Review - Fruit Lover Dessert - Hong Kong
Serving fruity dessert with heart!
Impression
In these few streets near Yau Ma Tei, there are quite a number of dessert places nearby, mostly independent instead of chain stores. This one is newly opened and I was attracted by its emphasize in using real fruits as ingredients. Of course, most desserts are made up with fruits but not all of them managed to focus on the real taste of the raw fruit without adding too much other seasoning.
The layer of this Strawberry Parfait (HKD 42) was simple and the presentation was nice. A scone of ice-cream in strawberry flavor with strawberry sauce on top, some cubed strawberries, corn flakes and tofu pudding. Nothing was a surprise but it lived up to our expectation given that the price setting was not aggressive at all. Satisfied!
The Almond Tea with Tofu Pudding (HKD 27) was within our expectation. Though it said "Hot" on the menu but it actually served slightly slightly warm. The match between tofu pudding and almond tea was a bit interesting and I saw they basically added the tofu pudding on every hot dessert items, like sesame soup too. They were not particularly match but it was good to have other texture in the dish.
Wrap up
The place is quite comfy with colorful furniture and good lighting. You can feel that they have put efforts in presenting the desserts in a nicer way, that is the attitude I really appreciated. And I have noticed they are using wheat-based biodegradable cutlery. Not sure about other utensils but the spoon I have been given for the Almond Tea was. Thumbs up for this little thing!
